Excellent Quality, Couple of Nitpicks

We bought this nice heavy glassware dripper to replace our old plastic one when my partner started tasting the plastic in our coffee. This model is well made, and with good materials that should last many years. Further, being glass, it won't translate any odors or flavors so long as it's kept in good cleanliness!
I subtracted one star for a couple convenience-of-life features this dripper lacks compared to our previous model. Namely, there is a lack of cutouts in the metal scaffolding that makes it impossible to see hoe far filled the the cup is, which makes things a bit more difficult when you're free pouring into coffee grounds from a full gooseneck kettle that contains more water than necessary for that singular cup.
Additionally, though this dripper is sized to handle #2 filters, I found that the standard filters we get have a different angle to them. That means it's a bit awkward to fit into the dripper, and just this morning I used a little too much force trying to make it sit properly in the well and my grounds broke through into my mug! Fixable, and we'll surely learn to compensate as time goes on, but the fact remains that it wasn't a problem with our previous dripper, so it deserves to be written down.
On the whole, despite the hiccups, I'm quite happy with the Yama Glass Dripper. It's perhaps more of a sidegrade than the simple upgrade I was hoping for, but we can get used to the filter issue, or even find new filters that work better, and I think I'll try modifying the metal cuff myself with a jeweler's saw so we can see down below. It's still a very nice dripper, and I expect it will last the test of time happily.
